STUDENTS
of Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta launched a
bulging in the student’s environment but later
turned out to be a tragic moment involving the police.
The protest, which began around 3:00am
midnight after a student was allegedly butchered by armed robbers who invaded
the environment at Camp road obatoko, Abeokuta and the controversy called
upon curfew in the vicinity.
During the
protest, which involved the police, a student of the Institution was shot in
the eye by a policeman when they were to put things in order but things went
sideways.
A student
who took part in the protest claimed, the protest was just a simple and peaceful
event but the armed force decided to take things too personal after they failed
to do their job in the society. " How on earth do we have
ELEWERAN Police station just a stone
throw from us and we still can’t sleep with our two eyes closed, we were
actually going to the police
station to let them know the bad deeds of this
thieves over night and how it has always been to us but it turned into something we never expected."
Another anonymous
protester said that "the police will never know what it takes
to loose a child and a partner which led to the protest to make our thought
known to the Government and police to secure safety of other students but they pointed their guns on us and
even went to the extent of shooting an
unarmed student in the eye".
